Instructor Therapists play a crucial role in facilitating positive change in individuals' lives by working directly with clients in diverse settings such as their homes, community, and select group programs. The IT’s purpose is to enhance socially significant skills while simultaneously reducing any maladaptive behaviors.
With specialized degrees or diplomas in psychology, applied behavioral science, early childhood education (ECE), child and youth care (CYC/W), or related fields, these dedicated professionals are well-equipped to make a significant impact.
Instructor Therapists, under the supervision of our Clinical Team, provide comprehensive support to neurodivergent children and youth. In addition to collaboration with our Clinical Team, Instructor Therapists are including wherever possible in collaborating with fellow professionals that support their clients.
Instructor Therapist Job Description
The ideal candidate possesses a degree or diploma (in Applied Behavioral Science, ECE, CYC, DSW, Psychology, Education, or related), is passionate about helping neurodivergent children and youth to thrive and is motivated to help DFLS increase the available ABA Therapy services in Renfrew County.
This is a guaranteed salary position, providing compensation for all working hours, including travel time, supervision, session preparation and client cancellations.
4-day work week, MAX: 35-hours per week.
Starting Salary: $40,000 ($22/per hour) + Benefits + PTO + Professional Development

Success in this position requires:
Access to your own reliable vehicle
Living in (or being willing to relocate to) Renfrew County
A clear Criminal Record Check
A clear reference-check + Vulnerable Persons Sector
A current CPR-C certification
The ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
One to be organized and punctual.
One to collaborate regularly with others.
Access to reliable internet and video-conferencing technology (for weekly supervision meetings).
“Extras” that would benefit an applicant:
Previous ABA experience
Experience supporting individuals with ASD.
RBT certification completed.
OCT/CDA.
Other related certifications.
Commitment to continued education.
