Can I use funds from the Ontario Autism Program to purchase services?

YES! Our ABA Therapy, Group Social Skills Programs and Caregiver Support Services are ALL considered Core Clinical Services

Are you on the OAP Approved Provider List?

Yes! You can find our ABA Therapy Clinical Supervisor, Taylor Yakabuskie, on the OAP Provider List by searching “Dragonfly”

Does my child need to be diagnosed with ASD to access your services?

Nope! Services are designed to suit the needs of the individual. Initial consultation calls and/or ABA Therapy Assessments are the best way to determine individual suitability for our programs but a diagnosis is not required to begin this process.

What if I am unsure what services/programs are best for my family?

Why do you have waitlist?

As of 2026, we do not currently have a waitlist for ABA services. Growing our team has allowed us to expand availability and support more families without extended wait times! High-quality, individualized services are a core value here at Dragonfly which means that we prioritize hiring and training skilled team members as well as ensuring a suitable match between client and therapist.

I don’t have my OAP funding yet, should I still join the waitlist?

Yes! We encourage families to join the wait-list ASAP to ensure quick access to services when funding becomes available. If you reach the top of the list before your funding arrives, we will maintain your spot in the queue while servicing the next family on the waitlist.

Where do Services occur?

ABA Therapy Services are delivered directly in your home here in Renfrew County or other settings your child may spend their days including childcare centers and extracurriculars. ABA Therapy services can also be delivered virtually, however this is determined on a case-by-case basis and should be discussed upon intake.

Caregiver Support Services all occur virtually and are available to those residing in Renfrew County as well as across Ontario.

Can Sessions Occur at My Child’s School?

Dragonfly does not currently have a Memorandum of Understanding in place with Renfrew County school boards. However, we encourage each family to explore this option with their school administrative team.

Who needs to attend sessions?

Ideally, the primary caregiver(s) would attend all ABA sessions in home. However, we understand this is not always realistic, therefore we simply require a pre-approved adult caregiver to be present during all ABA sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Caregiver Support 

What Is Caregiver Support? 

Caregiver support is used to help Parents/Caregivers that are looking to foster their knowledge, skills and confidence at home to support their neurodivergent children, as well as leaving some room for yourself to feel supported in the same way. We are here so you don’t have to feel alone filling the gaps at home. 

 What Can I Expect During Sessions? 

We offer 3 packages of Caregiver support outlined above all designed to work collaboratively in order to help support you at home. Our first 2 sessions consist of working together to create a plan, the remainder spent on working towards that goal. Caregiver support appointments are based upon the principles of Radical Behaviorism and Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) and are delivered by a Certified ABA Parent Trainer (CAPT) under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. Once your package comes to an end, you aren’t left to do the rest of the work alone! Follow up support is offered with every package. 

 What Funding Can I Use for Caregiver Support? 

SSAH funding can be used towards Caregiver Support. Families accessing ABA Therapy can also use OAP Core Clinical Services funds towards caregiver support services as part of their ABA Therapy treatment package. Families with Childhood Budget/Interim One-Time Funding can also use these funds towards Caregiver Support. Military families may also be able to utilize programs like Support our Troops funding to offset the costs of Caregiver support.
